Hello to all colleagues in the printing industry!

I have been in the rubber blanket manufacturing industry for 60 years. In the early 60s, I graduated from Shanghai Institute of Chemical Technology with a diploma in chemical engineering, where I spent four years systematically studying polymer chemistry. After graduation, I was assigned to work at Shanghai Printing Equipment Manufacturing Factory—the country's sole producer of printing rubber blankets at the time. My role involved developing printing rubber blankets, an area that was entirely unexplored domestically. Back then, production relied on traditional methods: manually scraping compound onto glass plates one by one to form sheets. Through persistent efforts over many years, we successfully developed the first solid-backed printing rubber blanket using natural rubber as the base material.

In the late 1960s, I led and coordinated a major collaborative effort involving the Beijing Rubber Research Institute, Shanghai Printing Technology Research Institute, Shanghai Textile Science Research Institute, and our factory. We successfully developed a modern rubber blanket for printing using synthetic rubber as the base material: model 10-3. This was China's first modern printing rubber blanket. The product was annually allocated by the China Printing Materials Company, which convened representatives from provincial printing materials companies in Beijing to distribute it according to plan.

Benefiting from the reform and opening-up policies, I ventured into business in 1993, conducting extensive market research across society. We adopted a hybrid model of outsourcing processing alongside in-house production and sales of printing rubber blankets. In 2002, we established Shanghai Baochun Printing Rubber Blanket Research & Development Co., Ltd. in Hongkou District, Shanghai—one of the earliest private enterprises in the district. Over 32 years of development, our company successfully launched solid-surface rubber blankets, air-cushion rubber blankets, UV rubber blankets, back-coated varnish rubber blankets, intaglio banknote printing rubber blankets, and various printing衬垫 (sleeves). We have grown alongside China's rubber blanket industry, contributing our share to its advancement.

In 2016, invited by the National Printing Standards Technical Committee, participated in the drafting of GB/33248-2016 "Printing Technology - Offset Blanket" national standard.

Since the reform and opening-up, printing technology and consumables have undergone revolutionary changes. In a flash, I have reached the age of 80. Time flies, and opportunities do not wait. Baochun Company has welcomed a new generation of talent and successfully transitioned from its old management team to a new one. Building on our existing foundation, the new leadership will inspire progress, stay ahead of the times, and further advance rubber blanket manufacturing processes to produce superior products. I remain passionate about this career I have devoted my life to—the production of rubber blankets—and will continue to actively contribute to Baochun Company's planning and development. My goal is to provide our fellow professionals in the printing industry with even better products and services.
